The owner of the missing ring has been found -

CVHS Alumni Home

Several months ago, I received a phone call from Mike, a Sacramento resident and '66 Rancho Cordova alum, who wanted to find the owner of a class ring that had come into his possession in a most unusual way.  Mike had been approached by a homeless person who wanted to sell the ring.  Mike had lost his own class ring many years ago, and thought it would be great if he could get the ring back to its rightful owner.

Mike tracked down the school from the design on the ring.  He was referred to me and we went to work.  We knew it was a woman's ring, we had the school - CVHS - the year - 1967 - and the initials of the owner.  I started by putting the information on the Clayton Valley alumni website.  I also contacted Bob Briscoe, the class coordinator for 1967.  Unfortunately, he didn't have contact information for the women with the right initials.  We did, however, have some phone numbers of siblings from other CVHS classes.

Many phone calls and emails later, the owner was located.  Cathy Petherick Surdez, CVHS Class of 1967, had lost the ring almost 30 years prior and was really excited to get it back.

We would like to thank Mike for his thoughtfulness and determination.  We would like to also thank those of you who helped us find Cathy.
